The second cycle of medical studies (SCMS) lasts four years, including three years of teaching with externship rotations in healthcare facilities, followed by one year of internship (SCMS 4), which includes both theoretical and practical training in medical faculties and approved internship sites recommended by the scientific councils of these faculties.
No credits are awarded when transitioning from the first cycle to the second cycle of medical studies.
To be eligible for enrollment in the first year of the second cycle of medical studies (SCMS), students must have successfully completed the first cycle of studies.
Enrollment is annual, and each student is required to renew their enrollment at the beginning of each academic year.
Students in the second cycle of medical studies (SCMS) can have unlimited enrollments. However, in case of exceeding seven (7) enrollments, the faculty council, after reviewing the student’s file, may set a limit on the number of enrollments. The decision of the scientific council must be justified.
